Rabbit polyclonal antibody to BCL2 also known as apoptosis regulator bcl2, which is expressed in the varieties of tissues but is highly expressed on the surface of ectocervix and coronary artery. It is found in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It suppresses apoptosis in a variety of cell systems including factor-dependent lymphohematopoietic and neural cells also regulates cell death by controlling the mitochondrial membrane permeability. This protein appears to function in a feedback loop system with caspases and can inhibit caspase activity either by preventing the release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria and/or by binding to the apoptosis-activating factor (APAF-1).
