Rabbit polyclonal antibody to ERCC5 and is also known as xeroderma pigmentosum group G-complementing protein whose expression can be detected in the basal ganglion but it is highly expressive in the cerebral cortex. It is found in the nucleoplasm. This protein extensively acts as a cofactor for DNA glycosylase that removes oxidized pyrimidines from DNA, moreover it may also be involved in transcription-coupled repair of this kind of damage, in transcription by RNA polymerase II, and perhaps in other processes too.
