It is the policy of the Bio-Connect to respect your personal data that is collected or maintained by or on behalf of Bio-Connect.

Scope

It is the policy of the Bio-Connect Group (Bio-Connect B.V, Bio-Connect Diagnostics, Bio-Connect Services), hereafter named Bio-Connect, to respect your personal data that is collected or maintained by or on behalf of Bio-Connect.
The following declaration provides an overview of what type of information is collected, how it is collected, why it is collected, how it will be used, and if so how it will be shared.

Definition of personal data

Personal data refers to information that identifies or could lead to a living natural person being identifiable. Personal data encompasses name, user ID, signature, address, telephone number, e-mail address, company name, job title, financial information, fields of interests or any other information that is capable of being associated with a particular identifiable individual.

Notice

Bio-Connect will notify customers about the purpose(s) for which it collects, processes and maintains the data including personal information, if applicable. Notice is provided in clear and concise language at the time of collection, or as soon as practicable thereafter, and before Bio-Connect uses or discloses the information for a purpose other than that for which it was originally collected.

Collection and use of personal information

Bio-Connect collects and uses your personal information to operate and improve its sites and services.

Buying

If you contact us for a quotation or placing an order via our customer service team or via our web shop the above information will be recorded in our ERP system so that you will not have to re-enter the information and to process your requests, orders and customer specific pricing. Possibly your personal information might be used to contact you regarding or in relation to the requested or purchased products or to perform customer surveys.

Visits by account managers

If you have been visited by one of our account managers your personal information will be recorded in our CRM system together with the sales report.

Technical question, sample request or complaint

If you contact our technical support (direct or indirect via our customer service or account manager) your personal information will be recorded in our CRM system to further process your question or complaint. Your personal information will also be used to perform customer surveys.

Email marketing

Via different channels e.g. account managers (visits), visiting our booth at meetings or other you might be asked for your personal information including fields of interests and your permission to receive marketing materials (e.g. newsletters, product specials, promotions) of your interests and preferences. ONLY with your permission you might receive marketing information. You only need to send us your email address to receive the newsletters and products specials. We also ask for your name, gender, company details and field of interest you are working in; answers are entirely optional. We use such information, especially the latter one, solely to help us to only send newsletters that suits your interest.
Newsletters contain so-called ‘web-beacons’ which are pixel-sized files that are activated once the Newsletter is opened. Initially, technical details, such as information about your browser and operating system, IP address and the time of access are collected. These details are used to improve the technical nature of our services, and also adapt our offer to suit specific target groups and their reading habits, made apparent by their retrieval location (visible via an IP-address) or retrieval time. Additional statistical data includes whether or not and when the Newsletters are opened, plus which links are clicked on. Although these details could be assigned to each Newsletter recipient, we make no effort to monitor individual users. Rather, our statistical analyses are designed for us to understand our users’ reading habits and adapt the Newsletter contents accordingly.
You may revoke your consent for the storage of personal data, your email address along with its use as a recipient of our Newsletters, at any time. Separate cancellation as regards statistical analyses and/or dispatch is unfortunately not possible. In every email themselves you have the possibility to unsubscribe from the mailing list. At any time you can also unsubscribe from the mailing list or cancel via contact, located below of this statement.

Job application

Bio-Connect B.V. processes personal data that may be relevant to the recruitment and selection procedure. This in any case concerns the data as provided by the applicant, including CV, motivation, name and address details, other contact details, the gender, the date of birth of the applicant and any additional photograph. Furthermore, the training, courses followed, internships, working history and availability of the applicant may be relevant.
Bio-Connect stores the data of applicants during the recruitment and selection procedure. In the event of a possible rejection, the applicant may be asked for permission to be approached for future vacancies. If the applicant gives permission for this, the details of the relevant applicant will be kept for one year. If the applicant does not give permission for this, the details of the applicant will be deleted no later than four weeks after completing the application procedure. An applicant can withdraw consent given at any time. A message must be sent for this. see below for Contact details. On entering employment, the data becomes part of the personnel file.

Website – Cookies

Cookies are harmless (cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses) small text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device, when you visit a website that later can be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving the user experience, and on the other hand they provide statistical data on a website’s usage that can be analyzed to improve the offer.

Website – Google analytics

Bio-Connect website bio-connect.nl uses Google Analytics provided by Google, Inc. (Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, as described above, which are stored on a user’s device that enable to analyze how visitors use the website. The information automatically collected from a computer’s web browser may include date and time of accessing the website, the requesting URLs, and the name of the domain originating the request. Such information will be transmitted and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for evaluating your use of the website, making reports of website activity for website operators (as Bio-Connect) and providing other services related to website activity and internet use. The information that we use is mainly for statistical purposes and for improvement of the website.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. The IP address Google Analytics collects from your browser will not be merged together with any other Google data. Users can alter the settings of their browsers to prevent such cookies being stored on their device, however please note that if you do this you will not be able to use the full functionality of the website.

Data integrity

Bio-Connect limits the collection and usage of personal information that is relevant for the purpose of processing or subsequently authorized by the individual. Bio-Connect take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is, accurate, complete, current and reliable for its intended use. In the event personal Information are to be used for a new purpose incompatible with the purposes for which the data were originally collected or subsequently authorized you will be asked for permission.

How it will be shared

Bio-Connect does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party. We may share your personal information with third parties that help us operate our business, such as service providers, or other third parties acting as a processor of personal information where the third party provides at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by these privacy principles. These types of service providers will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they require to deliver the service. If such third party is using or sharing personal information in a way which is contrary to these principles, Bio-Connect will take reasonable and appropriate steps to prevent or stop such processing. By submitting personal information you agree to that we record such information and may share such information with other business as described above.

Embedded services and third party contents

Our website provide links to third party contents such as, YouTube videos, images, texts, and multi-media files, RSS-Feeds or similar services provided by other websites. Your IP address needs to have been sent to the third party for you to receive their content. We can neither influence, nor comment on, how your data would then be used by such providers, nor do we have any control over how this data may be further processed, or whether it might be used for purposes surplus to providing you with the service you request, for instance for profiling. Please refer to the respective third party’s privacy statement for any further information.

Data transfer

Our websites have a trusted SSL Digital Certificate during the https connection which means that all communication between your browser and our websites are encrypted. We emphasizes that data transfer via internet (email or ordering via our web shop) is inherently exposed to security loopholes and cannot be entirely safeguarded against access by third parties.

Security

Bio-Connect takes reasonable and appropriate precautions to protect Personal Information in its possession and control from loss, misuse, alteration, destruction, or unauthorized access or disclosure.

Enforcement

Bio-Connect will do everything in its power to comply with these privacy principles. Any Bio-Connect employee found to have violated these principles will be subject to appropriate corrective actions.

Your rights regarding the information

Upon receipt of a written request for information we will inform you about the personal data we are storing about you. You can also request that we correct or update your personal data. You also have the right to disclosure of incorrect data, and blockage or deletion of your personal data. Should legal storage requirements hinder deletion, in the interim your data will be blocked. If the burden or expense of providing such access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual data subject’s privacy we will contact this person.
