CD74 is a transmembrane protein which, on antigen presenting cells, is the invariant chain that chaperones MHC class II dimers from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell surface. The cytoplasmic portion of CD74 can be released by intramembrane cleavage to activate NFkB. CD74 is upregulated in several cancers and is also expressed by non-immune cells during inflammation. - Protein. The extracellular domain of mouse CD74 (aa 56-215) is fused to the N-terminus of the Fc region of mouse IgG2a. Source: HEK 293 cells. Endotoxin content: <5EU/mg protein (LAL test; Lonza). Lyophilized from 0.2microm-filtered solution in PBS. Purity: >98% (SDS-PAGE).
