    mCherry is the second generation monomeric red fluorescent protein that have improved brightness and photostability. The recombinant mCherry is expressed and purified from transformed E. coli using a method that ensures high purity and maximal fluorescence intensity. mCherry protein is a 28.8 kDa monomer with 256 amino acid.
