The recombinant rat CNTFR comprises 356 amino acids with a predicted molecular mass of 39.6 kDa. It migrates as an approximately 48 kDa band in reduced SDS-PAGE. A DNA sequence encoding the rat CNTFR (Q08406-1) (Met 1-Pro 346) was fused with a C-terminal polyhistidine tag.
