On Thursday afternoon 2 April 2026, the UZ Leuven laboratory representatives and the VAKB (Association of Residents in Clinical Biology, www.vakb.be) welcome you to the annual scientific symposium at Campus Gasthuisberg, UZ Leuven.
This year’s theme, “Clinical biology without borders: impact of diversity on laboratory diagnostics”, explores how growing diversity and immigration in Belgium affect our healthcare landscape and daily laboratory practice. Topics include the changing relevance of tropical diseases, specific considerations for transplant patients with a migration background, and how to ensure appropriate reference values for all, regardless of gender identity or background.
The symposium targets clinical biologists (in training), clinicians, scientists, medical laboratory technologists and other interested professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of diversity-driven challenges in clinical biology.
If you would like more information about the symposium or how Bio-Connect can support your diagnostic or research activities, our account managers are happy to think along with you. Feel free to reach out for practical product advice, alternative solutions or to schedule a meeting.
