IL-21 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine and is produced by several T cells, including CD4+, T follicular helper and T-helper 17 cells. IL-21 supports both cytotoxic and humoral arms of the immune response.
Overproduction of IL-21 occurs in many inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, SLE, organ transplantation and Covid.
The level of IL-21 in supernatant, serum or plasma can be determined by ELISA. The IL-21 capacity of T cells or the frequency of IL-21 producing cells can be determined by ELISPOT assay.
With the Human IL-21 ELISA or ELISPOT kit from U-CyTech biosciences, you can determine the important IL-21 cytokine.
