LDN was founded in 1996 in Nordhorn, Germany, with the aim to develop, manufacture and supply specialty in-vitro diagnostics testing systems and innovative technologies for the clinical and research laboratory markets. From the beginning, the determination of biogenic amines with immunological testing systems has been at the heart of their business – where they are nowadays the world market leader. An integral part of this success are e.g. their assays for the quantitative determination of free metanephrines in plasma, the catecholamines, histamine and serotonin.

This positive outcome encouraged them to expand their business into related diagnostic areas such as food safety (HistaSure™ Fish Rapid Test, HisQuick™), food intolerance, neurotransmitters and amino acids. LDN then introduced a comprehensive endocrinological panel, especially for niche parameters such as free testosterone, 17-OH-progesterone, chromogranin A, DHT, estrone. They are contantly innovating and develop an average of 5-7 new products per year.
