Bioviotica Naturstoffe GmbH was established in 2006 as a spin-off from the University of Goettingen, Germany, with a focus on producing and characterizing “Rare Active Natural Products” as research reagents. In 2024, AdipoGen Life Sciences acquired the panel of production strains and product portfolio from BioViotica Naturstoffe GmbH. The name “BioViotica” is now an incorporated brand of AdipoGen Life Sciences.
Through the BioViotica brand, AdipoGen Life Sciences specializes in the fermentation of rare biologically active natural products derived from bacteria and fungi. This small-scale production, typically in the range of grams, is particularly valuable for academic, pharmaceutical high-throughput, and medicinal chemistry research, covering areas such as biochemistry, molecular biology, and pest management.
The BioViotica brand offers a product portfolio of active natural products with defined modes of action. These compounds are available as single items or as part of Natural Product Libraries for screening purposes, catering to the needs of researchers in various scientific fields.
