SERVA Electrophoresis introduces the HPE™ BlueHorizon™, a flatbed electrophoresis chamber for reproducible, high-resolution separations including SDS-PAGE, IEF, IPG strip focusing, 2D-DIBE and DIGE.
The HPE™ BlueHorizon™ flatbed electrophoresis device consists of a sturdy metal housing and an integrated drawer for horizontal electrophoresis. A ceramic cooling plate is built into the drawer of the HPE™ BlueHorizon™ that is connected to a water chiller. Film-supported gels of up to 260 x 205 mm are cooled consistently and optimally for each application. This is particularly important when performing isoelectric focusing (IEF). Additionally, when performing 2D or SDS-PAGE, the cooling results in unrivalled sharp bands and spots.
The electrode lid of the HPE™ BlueHorizon™ has three electrode positions (270 mm fixed, 195 mm fixed, 115 mm variable). The electrodes are fitted with unbreakable platinum rods. This makes it possible for the operator to move and clean the electrodes himself. The positions fit all types of film-supported gels. For 2D electrophoresis, we also offer an optional special lid with tray (Cat. No. HPE-ELIPG) to focus IPG strips of the first dimension on the HPE™ BlueHorizon™ system as well. For high throughput, a bidirectional lid with 3 electrodes is available.
Ideally matched, we recommend using the HPE™ BlueHorizon™ with the SERVA BluePower 3000 HPE™ power supply (BP-3000-HPE.01) and the HPE™ cooling unit (HPE-BHSYS.01). All three units are also available as a complete HPE™ BlueHorizon™ system (Cat. No. HPE-BHSYS). Connected to one chiller and power supply, up to four single HPE™ BlueHorizon™ units can be stacked with a small footprint to work in parallel or multiplex.
Together with SERVA gels and strips, this system is widely used in diagnostic laboratories, quality control labs, pharma and biotech companies. But even further, customers from agricultural differentiation, food analysis, HCP analysis and drug testing (to name just the most prominent applications) rely on the high separation quality.
