Traditional hybridoma derived antibodies introduce hidden risks into preclinical in vivo research. Hybridoma cell lines can suffer from genetic drift, gene loss and gene mutations that lead to lot to lot variability over time. In addition, because hybridomas are made using immunised animals, typically rats or hamsters, the species of the antibody cannot be changed. Repeated injection of rat IgG into mice can trigger an immune response, reduced effectiveness or hypersensitivity reactions, undermining study integrity and animal welfare.
RecombiMAb antibodies solve these problems by encoding a single heavy and a single light chain with a defined DNA and amino acid sequence, ensuring consistent reproduction of the same molecule across experiments, models and research teams.
