New Flow Cytometry-Validated GPCR Antibodies from GeneTex

25 June 2026

GeneTex has introduced new flow cytometry-validated recombinant GPCR antibodies that deliver reliable, reproducible detection of native receptors across diverse cell models in cancer, immunology, and neuroscience.

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) represent one of the largest and most pharmacologically important protein superfamilies in the human genome. Despite their significance in cancer biology, immunology, neuroscience, inflammation, and drug discovery, generating reliable antibodies against GPCRs has remained technically difficult because these proteins are highly conformational, membrane-embedded, and often expressed at low levels.

To address these challenges, GeneTex has developed a growing portfolio of recombinant monoclonal antibodies targeting human GPCRs characterized using rigorous application-specific strategies, including flow cytometry (FCM). These FCM-validated antibodies are designed to recognize native receptor conformations on intact cells, enabling more reliable analysis of receptor expression across biologically relevant cell models.

Why recombinant GPCR antibodies matter

Traditional GPCR antibodies often suffer from poor reproducibility, lot-to-lot variability, and insufficient specificity due to the structural complexity of transmembrane receptors. Recombinant monoclonal antibody technology helps overcome these limitations by enabling sequence-defined antibody production with improved consistency and scalability.

GeneTex further strengthens the reliability of its GPCR recombinant antibodies by employing various enhanced validation strategies, including:

  • Orthogonal validation
  • Recombinant protein overexpression
  • Knockout/knockdown approaches
  • Endogenous expression and cell fractionation analyses
  • Application-specific testing for FCM, IHC, ICC/IF, and WB
  • VirD™-GPCR array specificity screening for selected targets

Supporting GPCR research with confidence

Flow cytometry remains one of the most powerful approaches for analyzing receptor expression at the single-cell level. However, successful GPCR detection depends heavily on antibody specificity and compatibility with native membrane conformations. GeneTex’s FCM-validated GPCR recombinant monoclonal antibodies provide researchers with more dependable tools for studying receptor biology, immune signaling, tumor heterogeneity, and therapeutic target discovery.

As the GeneTex GPCR portfolio continues to expand, these rigorously validated recombinant antibodies aim to support more reproducible and biologically meaningful GPCR research across diverse application areas.

Highlighted FCM-validated GPCR antibodies

HL-60 cells: C3a Receptor antibody [HL2831] (GTX640102)
The C3a receptor (C3AR1) plays a central role in complement-mediated immune signaling and inflammatory responses. In flow cytometry experiments using HL-60 cells, this recombinant antibody demonstrates a clear population shift relative to the isotype control, supporting its suitability for detecting endogenous receptor expression.

Raji cells: CXCR5 antibody [HL3778] (GTX641977)
CXCR5 (CXCR5) regulates B-cell migration and lymphoid tissue organization and is widely studied in immunology and lymphoma research. Validated in Raji cells, this antibody enables robust flow cytometric detection of CXCR5-positive populations with strong signal separation.

THP-1 cells: beta 1 Adrenergic Receptor antibody [HL3678] (GTX641706)
β1 Adrenergic Receptor (ADRB1) signaling contributes to cardiovascular physiology, systemic metabolism, and immune modulation. Using THP-1 monocytic cells, this antibody demonstrates reliable staining performance for flow cytometric characterization of receptor expression.

MDA-MB-231 cells: PAR2 antibody [HL3771] (GTX641970)
Protease-Activated Receptor 2 (PAR2/F2RL1) has emerged as an important target in inflammation and cancer progression studies. In MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, this recombinant antibody provides distinct signal discrimination suitable for assessing endogenous PAR2 surface expression.
